Nicole Onslow is foremost an illustrator and artist within the fashion and lifestyle spheres.

She's also a successful textile, graphic and interior designer, and loves the diversity of her work.

Clients trust her vision, and her adaptability.

ABOUT

Nicole's especially grateful for two traits, that together have culminated in a successful multi-disciplinary career spanning more than 25 years. She's inherently artistic. She can draw really well. And she sees colour, layout and proportion naturally, giving her the ability to design in harmony.

She employs the traditional fine art practices of painting and drawing in her work, exuding elegance and femininity in watercolour & ink and more gestural work with gouache and acrylic. Her digital work produces a bolder, more confident style and it’s this adaptability that has seen her develop a portfolio as varied as her clients.

Her work has graced the pages of local and international fashion magazines, on the covers of best-selling novels such as Lauren Weisberger's The Devil Wears Prada and within high-end residential and retail spaces in Melbourne.

Nicole's background in fashion design, and her illustration career collided some years ago, seeing her regularly collaborate with clothing labels, creating beautiful bespoke prints for their collections. In turn, this has broadened her portfolio to wallpapers and other soft furnishings, paving the way for designing her first full interior retail space in 2019, project managing the full fit out, right through to opening night.

Her commercial client list includes Gucci, NGV, Montblanc, Virgin Music, White Room Paris, Tatler, Marie Claire, David Jones, Melbourne Fashion Week, Alannah Hill, Review, Just Jeans, The Kirketon Hotel and The Australian Magazine, Holism Retreat at Hotel Chadstone, among many others.

On behalf of The National Gallery of Victoria, Nicole has run fashion illustration workshops, sharing her knowledge, learned techniques and love of the industry to aspiring newcomers. And she is regularly engaged for live fashion illustration to capture special guests at exclusive events of some of the most covetable luxury brands.

Nicole currently lives and works in Melbourne, Australia, is available for private commissions, and would absolutely welcome a conversation about how she might collaborate with you.
